Isabel & Tom

Dancing From An Intimate Garden Wedding to An Art Gallery Celebration

Tom’s Words

“Thank you so so much, they are incredible. It just reminds me of how lucky we were to have you for the time that we had you. The days of photographs before and really love the mash ups, you’ve really got an eye for catching the looks on people’s faces. The dynamic ones are so much fun. Pretty must looking through saying, oh no we’re going to have to print 450 pictures, before they’re all that good. So so appreciative.”

Laura’s words

This was probably the trigger to rebrand my business. After shooting weddings for over 10 years I had started to shoot them a little slower. Connecting with the celebration, looking for film photography to inspire a more considered and creative approach to shooting and editing the pictures.

Isabel, the violinist and Tom the Psychologist, the wedding was a coming together of a two wonderful families, one from Melbourne and the other from Sydney. The wisdom of a meditative musician and a thoughtful psychologist, their personalities wound their way through the words in the ceremony to the string quartet that played Isabel down the isle.

I love when I’m part of more of the wedding story and with destination weddings I am usually able to ease myself in and immerse myself a little more deeply with the celebrations and tell more of the story. I got a glimpse into the family preparing for the day, Isabel & Tom having their final dance rehearsal the evening before the wedding then heading off for their night before the wedding in the beautiful Langham hotel by the river. I travelled to Sandringham with Tom and his closest friends on the train from Flinders Street Station to Sandringham, where Isabel grew up in a Spanish style architectural house.

Isabel & Tom’s words

“ No words. I’ve been in tears. I’ve relived the whole day. The beautiful one with Paul in tears and Isabel and Paul walking through the gates. I loved all the collages and the the film. The film did make it, I love the film ones. They really make it look like the late 90’s. Just couldn’t have done a better job, it’s just amazing. Thank you for them. How amazing! We’ll do reviews and all the things. Thanks for being such an integral part of the day…of the week. We better go off to bed. Goodnight and good morning. ”
